The partnership between Losi and GRP goes beyond distribution and team drivers with the announcement of a complete line of 1/8th scale buggy and truggy tires developed for optimum performance by Losi engineers in conjunction with the Italian tire company. Each tire utilizes a custom molded insert, which provides even response and greater use of the full tread pattern, while the pre mounted versions use GRP’s innovative gluing process to ensures that they stick to the yellow Losi high performance wheels, even under the harshest of conditions. Available in Cubic and Grip patterns for truggies and Jolly, Cubic, Cubic Max and Atomic patterns for buggies.

LRP have released their latest team t-shirt which has been made of 100% cotton making it extremely comfortable to wear. Its 2 tone grey and blue design gives a flattering effect for the wearer, while the screen printed logos leaves no people in doubt about your affilliation. Seen in the 2008 catalogue from Korean company Much More is the company’s new cell balancer docking station option for use with their Silent Charger system. Using their exclusive balancing program, it claims to provide 30% quicker balancing time than current balancers on the market and can handle up to 6 cells at one time.

Wednesday’s running at the 2008 Winter Nationals in Florida turned out to be a wash out with the rain coming down all morning, eventually stopping around 12 am. With the track starting to dry, around 2pm Jim Rice went on track to dry it with his super drying machine (see picture below) and then sprayed sugar water on the track. Racers were given free practice until 4pm or so and then the organisers continued with the programme, starting with round 2 of the Masters class. I’m not 100% sure, but I believe that not all of the 1/8th scale heats from round 2 have been completed and the organisers are hoping to finish this round as well as get 3 more rounds in on Thursday, with the club given permission to run under flood lights. The 1/10th 200mm class managed to complete their 2nd round and it was Paolo Morganti that has moved to the top of the pack with a quick 2nd round run to move ahead of Paul LeMieux who drops to 2nd, while DJ Apolaro (above) now sits in 3rd. Atsushi Hara Racing Products have released the latest version of their Twister Speed controller, the 2.3. Suitable for use only with brushed motors, this KO Propo made ESC features new programming software that allows the user to very accurately tune the throttle delivery as well as easily set drag brake. Other features include low voltage shut down to protect your cells from damage, while a FET ensures smooth braking.
