Jilles Groskamp TQ

Jilles Groskamp has made the perfect start to his new tenure at Tamiya by setting the quickest time in round 1 of the 2008 DHI Cup, giving him maximum points for the round with 3 of the 5 to count. Heading into Heat 21, the final heat of the round, it was Hot Bodies racer Andy Moore that had taken the TQ spot over from Shin Adachi, who had only taken the spot in the previous heat. Heat 12 saw a gaggle of quick cars, all on TQ pace which included Juho Levanen, Teemu Leino and of course Groskamp. In the final moments Jilles managed to get his head down and put in the laps needed to take the top spot and was aided by a slowing Levanen, run time being a struggle for a lot of the competitors.

Jonas Kaerup joins Hot Bodies

Jonas Kaerup has made a surprise move only a short time before the 2008 DHI-CUP, with the former European 1:10 electric Touring Car Champion deciding to end his relationship with Corally, and race the Hot Bodies Cyclone for Morfars.dk and Hot Bodies Europe. Jonas had to say-

It is a major chance to get to drive the Hot Bodies Cyclone and I am thrilled to get the opportunity. The car has won the European championships and World championships in the hands of Andy Moore. It is probably the best car I get to drive now, so I cannot wait to try it on the track.

As well as signing up to Hot Bodies, Morfars.dk and Much More Racing, Jonas will be continuing to run GM motors and batteries with Xenon racing gears.

Olly Jefferies wins Rug Racers Rd4

Olly Jefferies wins Rug Racers Rd4

Mirage are reporting from the 4th round of the Rug Racers championships which saw round 3 winner Olly Jefferies continue his great run of form to take the overall win. The HB Cyclone of Jefferies led after round one of qualifying but it was Elliott Harper that took over at the top of the time sheets in round two which made the final round of qualifying a very tense affair with both Elliott and Olly suffering incidents in the last run leaving Olly on pole with Elliott missing out by only a second. The first leg of the final saw Olly pull out a lead while Elliott found himself battling hard for second with Chris Kerswell, Elliot eventually claiming the position and taking 2nd. The 2nd leg was closer and saw Harper close to the bumper of the yellow and pink Cyclone for most of the race but he couldnt find a way past and so Jefferies took the overall win from Harper in 2nd.

ST Racing Concepts wrench & pliers

ST Racing Concepts wrench & pliers

ST Racing Concepts have released a number of new tools including a new wrench tool and shock shaft pliers. The 17 & 23mm wrench has been made with high quality CNC machined aluminium, is available in 3 colours, and is a must for serious nitro 1/8th scale truggy and Monster Truck racers. This is due to the lengthened neck of the 17mm wrench side to reach into the deeper offset rims while still providing enough room between the handle cross-bar, which features a 8mm wrench, and the wheel for your fingers to get a good grip. The new machined aluminium shock shaft pliers allow you to firmly hold the shock shaft in place while you thread on the shock ends, while preventing any scratching of the shock shaft.
