2007 RC Pro East Series Rd3 - Report

We received a report from Gene Hickersen from the 3rd and final round of the 2007 RC Pro East Series, which was held last weekend in Savannah Georgia at Phil Hurd Raceway. It was a good turnout of about 140 entries as the best of the East battle for the title of RC Pro East Champion. The track was a good combination of fast sections and really slow sections with tons of small double jumps and 1 huge double jump in the middle. There was no place to make up any time on the layout, but many places where you could easily loose time; so the racing was very close as everyone had about the same lap times.

Jimmy Maddison wins IIC Stock class

Jimmy Maddison wins IIC Stock class

Schumacher are very pleased with their performance at last weekend IIC event with Jimmy Maddison (UK) and Alan Hewitt (USA) taking 1st and 2nd in the Stock Rubber Sedan class, with Maddison having TQ’d the class. Their Mi3 was also at the top of its game in the 19T Rubber Class with class TQ Randy Caster coming home in 2nd, Jimmy Madison in 4th and 4th qualifier Alan Hewitt in 6th and Foam guru Chris Goetz also took 4th in the Stock Foam A main.

But the REAL story of the race was an astounding display of teamwork and cooperation in the Schumacher pits. As UK team member Jimmy Maddison was struggling with his primary car just an hour before his qualifier, the US team as a whole decided to “team build” his backup kit for him. The team members went to work, and in a flurry of activity they completed the car for him just minutes before his qualifier. Madison then went on to take TQ of the class with that qualifying round! This kind of team effort, friendly attitude and helpfulness were displayed throughout the event, and no single action could do more to personify exactly what it means to be a part of TEAM Schumacher.
