Some more product news from Carson, this time its the release of this 1/18th scale mini pick up. Designed to go anywhere on different terrains, this mini car comes as a ready to run set supplied complete with pre-painted body, installed remote control, battery pack and charger. Under the body shell the car is well equipped to perform with adjustable dampers, a robust chassis and included chassis brace supplied as standard.

Carson have released a race edition of their 1/8th scale gas powered buggy, the Specter. This latest version has improved performance and looks compared to the standard version and features a lot of additional tuning parts such as rear anti-roll bar, carbon fibre front stiffener, radio plate and middle differential stiffener, fuel reservoir splash guard, tuning drive shaft on front axle, aluminum front and rear shock-absorbers, all wishbone supports and chassis stiffener made of aluminum, and finally a three-jaw race clutch. Xray have a report on their site about their 13 year old Xray NT1 driver Manuel Singer becoming 2007 Austrian National Champion. The final race of the year, and showdown for the title, was run on a wet Amstetten track where only Manuel Singer or Serpent racer Gerhard Kandelhart could take the title. In qualifying it was another Xray driver Manuel Huber that claimed the pole position spot and in the race he lead from start to finish taking the win. Kandelhart had a troubled race with a spin off the track as well as an engine flameout meant he was out of contention. Another Serpent driver, Scheidl Christian, managed to claim 2nd place in the race, while 3rd spot went to Singer, which meant he would claim the 2007 title.

Chinese R/C engine manufacturer SH is to enter the already crowded 1/8th scale off road buggy market. Pictures of the car were shown on Japanese website RC-Magazine along with a brief introduction, however i couldnt work out anything from what was written so currently we only have the pictures to go by.
UPDATE: We were mailed by a Red RC reader who watched the video and let us know that the car features the engine leaned over a few degrees inboard to bring weight closer to the centre line, the front of chassis has a “twin” kickup, the rear suspension has unique semi-trailing/double wishbone configuration and has a rear brake system mounted on the rear gearbox.

Mirage Racing have announced that top UK Off Road Star Phil Sleigh will be using the HB Cyclone D4 with Nosram electrics for the late 2007/2008 season. Phil had this to say about joining the Mirage team:
I’m really looking forward to the 2008 season, which will give me the opportunity to work with the already successful Hot Bodies team… Racing the HB D4 will be a new challenge for me, but already the overall performance of the car is providing very successful results. More great results are sure to follow from the whole team in 2008.

Xray have released 2 different flywheel collars for use with the company’s XCA clutch used on the Xray NT1. Designed for use with the most popular motors, a 7mm version has been released for Novarossi-based engines while for Picco-based engines a 6mm version is available.

Jammin Products has released a limited amount of the new 2008 Super Big Bore 16mm shocks for the Jammin 1/8th line of Buggies and Truggies. The design allows the shock to be mounted to either the buggy or truggy by just utilizing different shock ends. Many new features have been included in this design including reinforced bladders, precision pistons, low friction assembly, threaded shock bodies and Teflon coated shock bodies.
