Robert Pietsch is 2007 German Champion

Robert Pietsch is German Champion

Just this weekend saw the German National Championship title race run for 1/8th scale at the Hamm track in the West of Germany, a race that would crown the new German National Champion. In qualifying it was Serpent racer Michael Salven that claimed the pole position ahead of Shepherd racer Robert Pietsch who would start 2nd. The start of the race was filled with drama as Salven missed the start changing tires and had to begin the race from the back of the grid meaning he would have to push from the start. With the race underway Pietsch could take the lead, but with Salven pushing hard he couldnt afford to relax, that was until Michael went off and with the motor starved of fuel sitting upside down, it stalled, which lost him 2 laps and so began another recovery drive. By the end of the race Salven had recovered to 3rd only a few seconds behind 2nd placed finisher Oliver Mack for Mugen, while the win went to Pietsch, driving the prototype Shepherd Velox.

Serpent 960 & 720 – New optionals

Serpent 960 & 720 - New optionals

Serpent have released some new parts for the Serpent 720 and 960, the first being this brass plate for use in the optional Serpent 720 LCG chassis plates. Made using very hard brass material, this plate provides more weight to the front of the car, helping to remove snap oversteer and allowing the car to corner faster and smoother. In addition to the improved cornering speeds the added weight mounted in the chassis helps prevent grip roll on high traction surfaces. Also new from Serpent for both the 960 and 720 are these thin and therefore super soft front anti-roll bar blades. These new blades have the same hard setting as before but in the softest setting they are much softer providing even more steering and overall they allow a wider range of settings. The end of the shafts have also been changed and now have a new adjusting slot which enables you to easily see the setting of the anti-roll bar.

We also now have pictures of the new buggy thanks to HoBao Norway and the car looks pretty good with its new spider diffs, big bore shocks, new chassis and braces as well as other changes.
