HPI Baja Round Trip of Iceland

HPI Baja Round Trip of Iceland

It was pretty awesome when HPI raced their Baja 5B the 120 miles across the Desert earlier this year, but that event will now seem like a small little test run compared to the new challenge facing this all terrain buggy. HPI will drive the Baja continuously around the entire island of Iceland, a round trip of 870 miles (1400km), that will take 4 days, the team will have a police escort and the whole thing will be covered by Icelandic television Channel 2, two newspapers and Bilar&sport magazine. Two thumbs up to HPI for attempting this and bringing RC sport to the masses.

Maxim Claes wins Rd3 of Belgian Nats

Last weekend at the Houthalen track in Belgium it was 14 year old Maxim Claes that took the class 2 win at the 3rd round of the Belgian National Championships for 1/10th 200mm. After qualifying 5th overall, Maxim was well placed in the semi final to take a spot in the main, but not before a broken shock absorber forced him to fight back from last to eventually finish 2nd. In the 30 minute main final the young Serpent driver lined up 8th on the grid and when the race started he could work his way to the front and take the lead, from where he went on to win the race by 3 laps.

Kyosho Masters – Elite final video

[googlevideo]5409638732023805980[/googlevideo]

RC Mag have again produced some great videos from the 2007 Kyosho Masters, held in France last weekend. As you can see from these videos of the Elite buggy final, it was really wet and this probably explains why the British racer Elliot Boots was able to win easily, using all those skills gained racing in the often wet and miserable UK Nationals. Check out the first part of the final above and watch the second video below.
