M Mod parts for MBX5 and MTX4

M Mod Wishbone mount

We have shown you lots of parts from M Mod before, as well as All Mod, and today we have more parts to show you, this time only for Mugen. The first up, which you can see above is a rear lower wishbone pivot point for the MTX4 that has been made out of the trademark grey anodised aluminium and adds to the strength required around this area in the event of an impact. Also available from M Mod, for the MBX5 and the MBX5-T, is a part that combines the upper servo saver mount and the upper rear side front suspension pivot point in one part which adds greatly to the strength and stiffness of this entire area.

Kyosho Gas powered 1/12th pan car

Kyosho Gas powered 1/12th pan car

The picture above was spotted in this months issue of the Japanese magazine, RC Magazine. It shows a new, concept stage, project by Kyosho to make a 1/12th gas powered 4wd pan car, sporting what looks like the same Sirio .09 engine that comes with the Mini Inferno range of buggies. As my Japanese is pretty bad, all i can comment on is the picture and i have to say that it looks like a rather awkward and cramped layout with 2 belt configuration, side mounted disk brake and 2 speed gearbox. The rear top mounted exhaust just looks like an afterthought and as much as the center of the car looks too busy, the front has nothing going on. What do you guys think?

DIY legal body side stiffeners

DIY legal side body stiffeners

Following the EFRA rule change earlier this year that placed a ban on body side stiffeners that are stuck or mounted to the inside of the body, some enterprising racers like John Ermen (above) have come up with a clever and unique way to overcome this ruling. Also seen on the car of Rob Kuijper at the first round of the Dutch Nationals last week, both drivers have mounted, formed, wire to the central radio plate mount that spreads out to touch the inside of the body shell which ensures that the sides of the bodyshell don’t flap about high speed or get caught up inside the car in the event of a crash. The end of the wire has been finished off with fuel tubing to ensure the vibrations dont put a hole in the side of the body. Clever thinking.

LRP Brushless & Brushed Cooling Set

LRP have announced the release of their Brushless & Brushed Cooling Set, which is essentially a fan and heatsink combination. As we all know excessive motor temperatures lower the efficiency and the power of a motor and can also lead to permanent damage so with this new offering from LRP you will see a considerable reduction in motor temperature during the race which keeps motor power up. Suitable for all 540-type motors, the set features a blue anodised heatsink and an oversized cooling fan to remove the heat.

Teddy Syach wins Pre-FEMCA race

Teddy Syach wins Pre-FEMCA race

Serpent are reporting on their site about last weekends Pre FEMCA championship race that was held at Jakartas Twin Circuit facility. The event was seen as the warm up event for the FEMCA Championships which take place on this track later in the year, and at this event it was Serpent driver Teddy Syatch that was the man to beat TQ’ing both classes along with recording the fastest lap of the weekend for both classes too. Unfortunately organisers were forced to cancel the A Mains due to heavy rain with the result being declared on the outcome of the qualifying heats which meant Teddy won both classes with 2nd place in 1/10th going to Peter Widjaja and Ryan Chandra in 3rd. In the 1/8th scale class, behind Teddy, it was Fayakhun TKI in 2nd and Arya Rido in 3rd.
