Much More Drive ESC

Much More Drive ESC

Korean company Much More have announced the release of this new electronic speed controller, called the ‘Drive’. Aimed at the sports market, with its forward and reverse, this speedo only works with motors over 17 turns but can accept all types of cells like NiMH, NiCD and Lipo. The ‘Drive’ features automatic setup and has a high temperature safety cut off system that prevents damage through overheating and because its from bling masters Much More you can choose from 2 different colour heatsinks – blue and silver.

Bartolozzi & Reade take the 2007 NSW State titles

Last weekend saw the New South Wales State championships take place at the Moore Bank Raceway in Sydney, as made famous by the 2001 1/8th scale World Championships. The race played host to 1/10th touring Pro, touring Pullstart and 1/8th scale and was event was meant to be completed on Sunday, but due to rain on that day the finals were run on the Monday rain day, ensuring a fair race for everyone. In the 1/8th scale class it was Kyosho racer Rick Bartolozzi that took the top qualifier spot and in the race lead from start to finish to take the State title with Wayne Walker finishing a close 2nd on the same lap while Peter Jovanovic came home in 3rd, 4 laps behind the leading pair.

In 1/10th toruing Pro it was Peter Jovanovic that took the pole position for the final but in the race it was Chris Reade that lead the race all the way, right up until it was stopped just short of the full distance due of rain which ensured Reade took the win, while Worlds podium finisher Jovanovic, who was closing before the race was stopped, finished in 2nd, only 8 seconds behind with Darren Campbell coming home in 3rd, 2 laps down. In the Pullstart class it was Joe Patane that took the win, after early race leader Ray Zarb ran into problems, with John Bates and Blake Young claiming the 2nd and 3rd spots respectively.

Xray have released this new optional narrow upper deck for their T2’007 190mm electric touring car. Made from 2mm carbon, when mounted the car should be easier to drive because it increases overall traction and is recommended to be used on low-traction tracks, either asphalt or carpet.

Pro Line Indoor Challenge – Full report

While we may have given you a brief report of what went on at the Pro Line Indoor Nitro Challenge last weekend, nothing beats actually being there and absolutely nothing beats an oOple report. Jimmy and Vicky, the dynamic duo, were at it again last weekend and as well as reporting on the event in full on a day by day basis they have loads of interviews with some really top racers such as Neumann, Maifield, Hughes, Cree and more, and of course as its oOple the photos are always top notch. Electric powered Serpent 1/8th scale

This news piece is just for a bit of fun as i appreciate when people make things like this due to the work, and in this case the craftsmanship, involved in such a project. This particular project is from a guy called Rene (Serum), that judging by the other conversions he has made, knows a thing or two about making a long term project like this. As far as i know the car hasnt been driven yet but what he has done is custom make a new radio plate, motor mount, battery mount and gearbox shaft and single speed assembly and stick in a brushless system. It should be pretty wicked to see when finished.

Tech Racing, makers of the MY07 Medusa EX, have announced their new Athlete conversion set for the Tamiya TA05. Featuring a long center upper deck, the car is now super rigid, making it perfect for high traction surfaces and the new kit also sports a much lower center of gravity than that on the standard kit. Another new item in the conversion kit is a new motor mount that allows you to remove the motor without having to remove the pinion gear and the part is also made in such a way as to keep the center of gravity as low as possible.

All Mod, the optional parts brand from MID in Germany, have added two new items to their current product line up. First up, which you can see above, is this grey anodised aluminium air filter carrier for .21 and .28 off road engines which claims to allow 40% more air into the engine, while not compromising the filtering process. Also from All Mod are some new capped wheel nuts that are suitable for all off road axles with a 17mm thread.

Mark Green wins Rd1 of UK 1/8th Nats

Last weekend saw the first round of the UK 1/8th scale Nationals take place at the Mendip track in the mid west of England. Mark Green, winner of the Pre Worlds in Argentina and round 1 of the UK 200mm Nationals, carried forward his top form to this race to take the TQ at this event ahead of fellow Serpent racer Richard Hicklin, with Dave Dixon in 3rd. In the race itself it was Mark once again that took the win, followed home by Mugen racer Gareth Bell in 2nd, 3 laps down with Andrew North completing the podium in 3rd, a further 2 laps down on Bell.
