Alberto Picco wins Rd1 of Italian Nats

Last weekend saw the first round of the 1/8th scale Italian Nationals held at the Angri track, which stepped in to host the round after the Messina track pulled out a few weeks before the event was due to be run. As it is a World Championship year the Italian Nationals are being run in Worlds format, which means 10 minute qualifiers and 1 hour main finals and when the qualifying was over it was Alberto Picco, driving a Mugen, that took the TQ spot ahead of Serpent racer Massimo Fantini, Danielle Ielasi for Kyosho in 3rd and another Serpent of Andrea Cristiani in 4th.

The Border – April Special

The Border - April Special

This month, our site sponsors – The Border – have a great special offer for all 1/10th scale touring car drivers out there. The H.A.R.D. Fully Automatic Tire Truer, which normally sells on the Border for EUR 254.84, has been slashed in price and can now be yours for only EUR 199.98, which is a massive saving of 22% for a great and essential product. What makes this such a great deal is the fact that this truer is a top of the range fully automatic tire truer and which also comes with the touring car wheel adpator included, something which other more expensive brands don’t include. This is also, currently, the smallest automatic tire truer on the market and another great feature is that if you are an electric racer as well, you can easily convert this into a comm lathe, a very unique selling point.

If you are interested in this product, act now, as stocks are limited and this offer lasts only through to the end of April. Click here to go to the product page.

Team Orion CRF Exhaust Systems

Team Orion CRF Exhaust Systems

We showed you a spyshot of the new #2647 CRF exhaust pipe from Team Orion a month ago and now we have the first full pics of the exhaust set that that pipe comes in as well as the individual items. These new EFRA approved pipes are available in 2 different sets, one has a short conical manifold for high speed and the other a long conical manifold for high torque. These pipe sets are a must for the CRF .12 WASP engines and it was this pipe set that allowed Adrien Bertin to achieve his 107kmh at the Melzo track in Italy. Expect to see these items in the shops very soon.

CRF Engine Tuning parts

CRF Backplate

Around the time of the Nurnberg toy fair we wrote about some of the new items from CRF and now these parts are about to be released to the public. Amongst these revolutionary products is the CRF Back plate (shown above) that improves the mixture transfer to the cylinder and provides better cooling from the bottom of the crankcase. Also being released by CRF is the double inlet system, that works on all motors and prevents the engine getting too lean or rich, depending on what direction corner you take, by giving the carburettor a constant amount of fuel from both sides of the engine.

Other items include a set of 3 exhaust spacers, in 1, 2 and 3mm thicknesses, that allow you to fine tune the length of your fixed CRF, or Mielke, exhaust system as well a large venturi that gives your CRF engine more torgue and better fuel economy and finally a new conical combustion chamber that is meant to give your CRF engine an extra 1.5kmh as well as faster top speed and acceleration.
