Chris Grainger wins Rd1 of BRCA Mod Nats
Last weekend saw the first round of the BRCA modified championships take place at the Stafford track. Qualifying saw World Champion Andy Moore, driving for Hot Bodies, take the pole position ahead of 2nd place Chris Grainger, driving for Yokomo, and Craig Drescher, with the pre production Associated TC5 in 3rd.
In the first final it was a clean win for Moore who finished just ahead of Xray racer Ben Cosgrove with Grainger in 3rd while in the 2nd final Moore had a coming together with Grainger, which saw Grainger knocked back to 3rd behind Moore and Drescher. Just as Drescher was gearing up for a pass on Moore, the HB driver lost drive gifting Drescher the top spot and win in front of Grainger and Jefferies in 2nd and 3rd respectively. These results compiled gave Yokomo racer Chris Grainger the round 1 win ahead of Xray driver Ben Cosgrove in 2nd and HB racer Olly Jefferies in 3rd.
Also present running at the event was the 27 Turn class which was won by Jimmy Maddison driving the TOP Scythe with Luke Hobson in 2nd and Andrew Twigger in 3rd.
