Javier Hidalgo wins Rd1 of Spanish 200mm Nationals

Rd1 of Spanish 200mm Nationals

Today saw the running of the 1st round of the Spanish National championships for 200mm held in Gijon. The race was won by 3rd placed qualifier Javier Hidalgo, driving a Serpent 720, who managed to pull out a lap on Kyosho racer Luis Cayetano who finished 2nd while a lap further back in 3rd place was Jose Casas who gained the final podium spot driving a Serpent 710. This race was the first national event for the Xray NT1 with the new car gaining 3 spots in the main final with Carlos Peracho bringing the car home the highest in 5th.

Canadian Winternationals – Qualifying

This weekend sees the running of the Canadian Winternationals that takes place in an indoor hall in Red Deer, Alberta. Qualifying has been completed for the event and it was Gary Guest who was leading the way in the Buggy class ahead of Chad Bradley and Ryan L. McCrery, whilst in the Truggy class the top 3 is the exact same with Guest, Bradley and McCrery in 1st, 2nd and 3rd. The racing takes place today, Sunday, but due to the time difference we may not have any results for you until Monday morning.

More product news from Nosram, this time its the release of the Evil, a new brushless/brushed speed controller. This new speedo comes in 2 versions, and both are intended for sports racers with both versions of the Evil featuring reverse as well as being fully waterproof. This controller, as with all modern speedos, can automatically detect the motor (brushed, brushless) and cell type (NiMh, Lipo) and can work with 4, 5 or 6 cell configurations. The standard version can handle brushed systems up to 10 turns and brushless to 12.5 turns, whilst the ‘Power’ version can handle brushed systems up to 7 turns and brushless to 8.5 turns.

Nosram Dragon brushless motor

Nosram have released details about their new motor, the Sports Modified Dragon, which is a brushless system for the sports level racer. Made using the same technology as the Storm Evolution, the Dragon uses neodym magnets, features a hand wound armature for optimium performance and as this motor is sensored, you can be guaranteed a very responsive feel.

Alex Calatayud wins Rd2 Social Santa Perpetua

This weekend saw the 2nd round of the Santa Perpetua club championships, which happened to be very well attended due to the fact that this track will host rounds of both the Spanish and Catalunyan championships this year, and racers attending these events wanted to get some pre event track time in. The race itself was won by Xray racer Alex Calatayud ahead of 2nd place Hot Bodies racer Gerard Roig and Albert Navarro racing for HoBao in 3rd.

Rune Karlsen wins Rd1 of Norwegian cup

Buggy-Sport have the report from the first round of the Norwegian cup that took place under some tricky and extremely cold conditions. 54 drivers attended the event despite the heavy snow storms, that kept some of the signed up racers away, and those drivers were greeted by snow and ice on the track. After qualifying, Kyosho racer, Tom Erik Haaversen took the TQ spot followed by Viggo Andreassen and Ronny Myhre in 2nd and 3rd respectively. In the main race itself it was Rune Karlsen who took the early lead and held onto it till the end to take the win while 2nd position went to pole man Tom Erik Haaversen with Anders Mehren ending the race in 3rd.

Juho Levanen wins Fintrack Rd2

Xray are reporting on last weekends round of the Fintrack indoor series that took place on the Ylistaro track. Racing was very close in the modified class with the gap between 1st and 10th only 5 seconds and between Juho (1st) and Teemu (2nd) the gap was only 0.2 sec. Associated racer Levanen went on to win the modified class followed by Xray racer Teemu Leino in 2nd and Corally racer Simo Ahoniemi in 3rd. In Pro Stock it was Xray racer Janne Valtanen that took the win followed by team mate Jukka-Pekka Huhtala in 2nd and Ari Lappi in 3rd.
