Our friends at RC50.com have gotten some camera time with the new Corally touring car, the HMX. This appears to be the final production car with the most stand out feature of course the front and rear shock towers. We have no other information on the chassis other than it is due for release this month, so we will let you know more when it becomes available.

Xray X12 coming soon

Xray have announced the impending arrival of the all new 1/12th scale chassis, the X12. Giving no details in a teaser statement on Twitter, the Slovakian company simply stated “The all-new Xray 1/12 platform coming soon. Good bye XII…welcome X12.” We will keep you posted as we get more updates.

Kyosho Plazma Ra 1/12 scale chassis

Kyosho Japan have released information on their upcoming Plazma Ra 1/12 scale pan car chassis. Named after the iconic line of Plazma on-road chassis’, the new addition that will hit the stores at the end of December 2011 is a rather conventional affair designed around the common 1S LiPo battery with rear link suspension, side damper tubes and is made for standard US-type wheels. The red anodised aluminium parts are standard as is the oil-filled centre shock absorber.

Xray T3 2012 spec coming soon

The new 2012 version of the Martin Hudy designed Xray T3 is on its way. Xray have published a list of updates for the next generation of their successful touring car platform and it seems to be a pretty comprehensive change with a new chassis, top deck, shock towers, upper bulkheads along with whole host of other stuff. Expect chassis shots and full details in the near future.

Having brought you a sneak peek CAD image on Monday, today Serpent have released complete information and images of the S120 Link-Tube, the latest version of their 1/12 chassis. Optimised following a full season of testing and racing, the focus has been on the optimal weight distribution in the car with modern LiPo, motor and speedo. A symmetrical chassis design gives even flex while a new top deck and alu poles increases stiffness. The front end with many set-up options is continued, the strong rear end is now fitted with 7075 T6 anodised alu parts for the motor pod to increase durability even at hard crashes and S120-LT is fitted with super-light and strong aluminum rear shaft.

Serpent S120-LT chassis

Serpent S120-Link Tube version chassis

Serpent have announced details on the new version of their 1/12 scale platform, the S120. The S120-Link Tube version chassis is now fully developed for LiPo use and combines the Links with the Tube system. This creates a very agile, fast and easy to set-up racing chassis. All carbon parts are new, a new top-deck is added, but front and rear pod, alu shaft and main shock remain the same as before. We are also told that a conversion set for S120-L to LT will be offered too. We can expect more info later in the week, while the kits should be ready to ship from the 1st week of October.

Protoform Tornado RallyCross 1/16th body

Protoform have released this bad-to-the-bone ‘Tornado’ RallyCross body for the Traxxas 1/16th VXL chassis. The Tornado body is made to fit the Traxxas chassis perfectly and it can be mounted super low, yet maintain tire clearance. The body mount holes, as well as wing mount holes are clearly marked. This body is made to be used with the inexpensive Traxxas injection molded wing and it comes complete with window masks, decal sheet and protective film.

Corally HMX touring car prototype

Dutch company Corally are showing of their latest touring car prototype called the HMX. Due for release in October there are no details available yet for the car other than the final version will differ slightly to the one shown in the image. But looking at the photo the stand out feature is the aluminium shock towers that see the tops of the shocks mounted on the ends using a ball joint, presumably allowing the angle to be adjusted using shims placed under the ball. More information as we get it.
