MAD Racing IDEA 4×2 Buggy

MAD Racing IDEA 4×2 Buggy

French manufacturer MAD Racing have been in touch to tell us about their latest 1/8th scale buggy for the Southern Europe specific 2wd class, called the IDEA. Based loosely on a Team Associated RC8, the car, as you would expect, doesn’t sport any front drive train and thanks to the lack of a central drive shaft the engine is now no longer in line. Power is driven to the rear wheels through a custom made gearbox whose casing doubles up as the cars engine mount and rear braking system for an ultra stiff construction. The car also features double piston suspension, while the car’s drive gear sports a unique adjustable prototype slipper.

LRP has announced the release of their own 1/8th scale buggy called the S8 BX. Due to this centred chassis layout the S8 BX is easy to handle and the cornering ability is outstanding, especially through chicanes it will amaze you! The revolutionary rear suspension design with active caster gives the car an improved shock absorbing characteristic and makes stability and agility a standard feature. The front of the chassis has a “twin” kickup, the rear suspension has unique semi-trailing/double wishbone configuration and there are 2 braking systems in the car, in the traditional center position but als on another rear brake system mounted on the rear gearbox.
