Xtreme Racing release MBX5R shock tower

Xtreme MBX5R Shock Tower

Xtreme Racing have released this 4mm thick carbon fibre rear shock tower for the Mugen MBX5R. With the abuse that these parts experience on the track it is important that they can stand up to the punishment and these ones look like they could. The shock tower is a direct replacement but also contains an extra row of shock mounting holes for further adjustment. Xtreme Racing have also released carbon shock towers for the MBX5T too.

Aigoins engine fetches $800 in auction

Earlier this month we mentioned that website TWF8.ws was to auction the actual RB engine that Yannick Aigoin led and nearly won this years 1/8th buggy World Championship with, well that auction has now ended and the winning bid for this great engine was $800. The engine was kindly donated by Rody Roem of RB products for this sale so all this money will beÂ donated the UNICEF, a great gift in this season of giving.

GRP release innovative exhaust system

GRP FLS Exhaust Pipe

GRP have announced the release of their new innovative 3 chamber exhaust system for 3.5cc off road engines. The innovation isn’t the new titanium colored finish but instead with the fact that the need for springs in mounting the exhaust to the manifold is eliminated with a new patented locking system called FLS.

The main novelty is the FLS (Fast Link System), studied and patented by GRP worldwide. This new system eliminates the need for springs, gaskets between the manifold and the pipe. You simply insert them and twist and it locks into place. Not only the FLS is new but also the pipe is made from a harder material, titanium finishing and a true 3 chamber model, guranteeing high performance and low noise.

Ofna release high downforce wing

Ofna have released a new high downforce wing for 1/8th scale buggies. Due to the wing’s design, added airflow over the wing increases the downforce for more low and high speed rear buggy traction. The wing comes in four colors white, yellow, red and black, plus side plate decals and numbers.

Another body from JConcepts and another Illuzion, this time for the Electric 2wd buggy, the Losi XXX-CR. This particular body comes with 3 wings in total, one 6″ rear wing, one 7″ rear wing and a front wing also. So you should have no problem hooking your Losi up when you have this body on, plus it looks super mean too.

The high down force 6″ rear wing is for added rear stability and the high down force 7″ rear wing is for super rear stability. The Illuzion front wing is for added front stability. The Illuzion body features hard edge side pod styling with runners on the sides designed to move the air more efficiently to the wing. The roof of the body has been dramatically wedged and Illuzionized for that aggressive look.

Another addition to the Illuzion range from JConcepts is this Mugen MBX5R bodyshell. Available in either standard or heavy duty polycarbonate this new shell not only looks the part but performs too.

The Illuzion features enhanced hard edge side pod styling with runner flow channels on the sides designed to move the air more efficiently to the wing. The roof of the body has been dramatically wedged and Illuzionized for that aggressive look. While the front of the body has less of a transition from hood to window which gives it a more dramatic look.

A while ago we mentioned that TWF8 was auctioning the actual engine that Yannick Aigoin nearly won the World Championships with. Well that auction has now started and at the time of writing the highest bid was at $200. Whats great about this is that everyone is a winner, the winning bidder recieves this amazing RB C6 with exhaust system, kindly donated by Rody Roem of RB Products, and all the money goes to UNICEF.
