Japanese company HiroFactory, known for their HRF10X conversion kit for the Tamiya F103 and F104 chassis are currently working on the HRF12X, the company’s first complete 1/12th scale pan car kit. So far only a handful of teaser shots are available that show some of the car’s details such as highly adjustable front end with aluminium arm mounts and a conventional overall design. The mid section shows the carbon fibre chassis and by the looks of things the 1S battery pack can be place in a longitudinal or traversal position. The rear end again is of a conventional design with a spacious motor pod, link-type suspension and two grease-filled roll dampers. We have no definite information on availability but according to HiroFactory the kit is “coming soon”.

Serpent 747-e – First images

Serpent 747-e – First images

Serpent have released first images of their upcoming 747-e 200mm electric touring car. The vehicle makes use of the suspension components, steering and front and rear bulkheads of the nitro-powered 747 and combines them with a carbon fibre double deck construction in order to create a lightweight yet strong base for 2S to 3S LiPo battery packs and 540-size brushless motors. With the battery and motor technology developing at a fast rate the tough 200mm cars allow the use of 4-pole brushless motors for increased efficiency and power output and the class may come to the rescue for clubs that are faced with noise emission problems. It is understood that the 747-e will be released before the end of this year. We keep you up-to-date with more information as soon as they are available.

Protoform 1971 Pontiac Firebird VTA body

Protoform 1971 Pontiac Firebird VTA body

Protoform introduce the 1971 Pontiac Firebird VTA body shell. The Pontiac Firebird Trans Am was one of the signature cars of the former full-scale series, and now Protoform has captured its trademark look in the release of the ’71 model for the VTA 1/10th scale racing class. From its aggressive front beak, to the duck tail-style rear spoiler, to the mother of all macho items – the shaker hood scoop – no detail was overlooked. The front nose cone is moulded separately, and when mounted with the 2mm screws and/or liquid adhesive, it becomes an integral part of the body. Because this area of a race body is the most prone to racing wear and tear, a second nose is included. The body comes clear, including nose mounting hardware and a large decal sheet and it fits virtually every 200mm touring car chassis and as well as 190mm cars equipped with off-set wheels.
