Bittydesign VPR 1:10 Street Drag racing body

Bittydesign has released the ‘VPR’ 1:10 Street Drag racing body shell.  The Italian company say the project was born from the desire to create an extraordinary product developed specifically for drag races, “No Prep Street” category.  Made with 1mm thick high quality polycarbonate Lexan, the body shell was designed on Team Associated’s DR10 chassis but can also be mounted on Losi 22S chassis No Prep Drag, Traxxas Slash 2wd Drag Car & Traxxas Drag Slash 1:10.  Making reference to one of the most iconic American supercar ever made, during the design Bittydesign produced a few parts that complete the racing look of the VPR and aid in performance.  The included rear ‘drag racing’ spoiler extension improves and “cleans” the air turbulence generated in the rear. They also offer an optional large GT rear wing to reproduce the exact style of the 1:1 scale GT car.

Front shock towers matched to short shocks are 8mm lower to improve CG with two optimised shock mounting positions. The Rear shock tower is also updated to work with the short shocks. Redesigned with additional material to improve durability in severe crashes and 8mm lower with 2 shock mounting positions to improve CG and optimise handling. The car features a number of heavy duty parts including lower bulkheads for improved durability while maintaining ultra-low weight with heavy duty upper clamps improving durability in hard crashes.

Yokomo MD1.0 optional parts

Having released their all new MD1.0 Drift Kit last month, Yokomo has just released two optionals for the car. The first is for the transmission. As standard the transmission has 3 gears and positive torque, but by adding a counter gear and reconfiguring it, this conversion set can be used with 4 gears and anti-torque specifications. Compared to a 3-gear transmission, the additional gear increases drive loss, but the anti-torque of the motor works to push the rear of the car downward during acceleration, making it easier to gain rear traction. The high stability and acceleration power, especially on corner exits, are very attractive, and will be a big advantage in pursuits. Also offered is a battery holder conversion to change the battery mounting of MD1.0 to inline mounting. When the car has a certain degree of grip, mounting the battery inline (in the front-back direction of the chassis) suppresses chassis roll, enabling sharper movement when transitioning to an acceleration position at the exit of a corner or when turning a corner. In addition, the front load is slightly increased, which allows the car to steer better during cornering and provides a high degree of control.
