Yokomo BD10 short shock taper pistons

Coming from Yokomo and made for their BD10 touring car are new tapered 1.0mm 4-hole pistons. They feature a special, tapered design that provides different shock characteristics on compression and extension with the tapered shape resulting in quicker extension and increased “pack” upon compression. In addition the piston holes sit at an angle which means even when running softer oils the shocks offer a harder pack on quick inputs while absorbing micro vibrations and smaller road imperfections, keeping the wheels to the ground more effectively.

TSP-Racing introduce two new high-power servos

Coming from TSP-Racing are two new high-power servos offering 45kg-cm and 55kg-cm of torque. The T81 BHMW offers up to 45kg-cm of torque and it is IP67 standard waterproof, making it ideal for demanding 1/8th scale on-road and off-road racing alike while the stronger T86 BHM features splash water resistance. Both are housed in sturdy all-aluminium cases with machined heatsink design middle sections and white laser-engraved logos. Both servos are fully programmable using TSP-Racing’s USB PC dongle that allows to adjust parameters such as servo reverse, Sanwa SSR compatibility and overload protection. The needed software is available for free. All-black receiver wires round out the packages.

RC Maker BD10 Slimflex chassis & weight options

RC Maker have introduced their new Slimflex carbon fibre chassis and floating electronics plate for the Yokomo BD10 touring car. Tested and developed for months the chassis will improve on the original chassis, especially in low-med traction conditions. The chassis is narrowed all round to provide less scrubbing in corners, leading to increased corner speed. This increases flex, so to counteract this, the designers have recessed the diff and spool cutouts instead of cutting them all the way through. Not only does this bring the chassis back up to the desired amount of flex, it also improves aerodynamic performance by not preventing air from under the chassis being forced up into the car, detrimental to downforce. Overall, the chassis is slightly stiffer than the kit chassis, and provides improved response.

Kyosho R4 Evo.2 FTT one-way unit

Kyosho have introduced their new FTT Front Torque Transfer one-way unit for the R4 Evo.2 and R4S II 200mm nitro touring car kits. The adjustable one-way axle combines the best of both worlds, the steering and acceleration performance of a one-way with the braking power or a solid front axle as the unit allows to adjust its internal resistance using silicone oils with the hardness controlling cornering and braking action. The body of the unit is machined from high-quality aluminium for improved heat dissipation while the internal aluminium and delrin spacers allow to fine-tune the one-way action using different thickness fluids. The kit will become available this August.
