Following the release if the new A12X and A12WC 1:12 kits from Awesomatix, MXLR is offering a new Carbon Electronics Plate for both cars and Fan Holder for the A12X.  Made from high quality 1.0mm Carbon, Carbon Electronics Plate is a rather simple design but offers many advantages.  It extends the rather small space to mount your electronics in the A12X & A12WC and provides very quick exchange of the whole electronics with just 2 screws.  A little notch on the front site helps with centering of the servo when you use a non direct mount servo.  The Fan Holder is an updated version of MXLR’s popular worlds winning A12 fan holder.  The legs and the mounting position is slightly adjusted to fit with the dimensions of new designed A12X.

With America celebrating Independence day today (4th July), 1:12 World Champion chassis manufacturer CRC based in Oneida County, New York, has released some information and low res images in relation to their new 1:12 car kit which it states will ‘be available soon’.  The images are of the car that dominated the 2024 Snowbird and Canadian Nationals.  CRC posted, ‘After many race weekends on the road this past season testing and refining with the team, the result is a fast, simple, lightweight, durable and affordable race car that has already won major championships.  More information will trickle out soon.’  Founded by Frank Calandra Jr in 1993, Team CRC are also making the full switch to metric measurement, saying ‘Keep an eye out for the new 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗖𝗞𝘀 (metric hardware CRC Carpet Knife® pronounced “meh-tricks”) 1/12th race car from Team CRC.’  Highlights of the new car include, ‘Ultra-tune’ front end with easy set-up front wedges (caster/camber geometry pieces), vented king pin for greater damping fluid volume and continuous lubrication, and Low CG thanks to ballast placement just 3mm above race surface but same level as chassis.  The complete kit with standard racing equipment will come in 60-90 grams under minimum weight.

Excelerate RC Prodigy 12 1:12 – Final Prototype

Josh Cyrul, one of America’s most experienced electric onroad racers and an accomplished car designer, has posted on his social media images of the new Excelerate RC Prodigy 12 1:12 chassis he has penned.  In the post Cyrul explains, “This is the final prototype fitting of parts so some of the anodize colors are being switched around as well as the shapes and fit of a few parts but everything is in production with a good portion of production already finished.  I’m sure people will say it’s a copy… Until you flip it over and realize it’s for sure not. A huge % of this car is actually based off cars I drove and started designing in the mid-late 90’s. From the my heavily modified Corally F1 car to the TQ Eagle of the early 90’s and all the hand dremal’d garage experiments along the way, this one is a heavy mix of concepts I’ve tried and really wanted to put together into a singular package.  Steep learning curve ahead as we learn setups for various races and carpets but I’m pretty happy with the foundation we have to work with.  More details coming soon…”  The multiple ROAR National Champion finished up by announcing that he is also working on a second Excelerate RC chassis release saying, ‘Oh yeah, and if you think this is cool…. Just wait until you see the F1 car coming next!!”
