Vigor carbon fibre mid motor tweak rod

Vigor have introduced their new carbon fibre tweak rod designed for mid motor touring cars. Made of a sturdy carbon fibre rod, the tool helps to remove tweak from chassis and bulkhead assemblies by loosening the bulkhead and top deck screws, pressing down the tweak rod onto the front and rear shock tower, and tightening the bulkhead clamp and top deck screws. The result is a chassis with minimal tweak which results in a more predictable on-track performance. A machined slot in the rod makes way for the spur gear of mid motor touring cars, allowing to use the rod even with today’s ultra low profile shock towers.

Roche introduce first Rapide F1 Evo2 optionals

Roche have announced the soon release of first optionals for their Rapide F1 Evo2 formula car kit. The range will include an aluminium main chassis, a flex upper deck as well as alternative suspension inserts such as the 6/8.5 caster insert or the 1/1 aluminium steering arm position adjuster. The alloy chassis will come in handy especially in high-grip track conditions while the flex upper deck allows to adjust the overall chassis flex both with the carbon fibre or aluminium chassis. The caster and steering arm position inserts will allow to fine-tune the suspension settings if conditions are calling for it. More parts will be released in the near future.

RC Maker A800MMX/MMCX SlimFlex carbon fibre chassis

RC Maker have introduced their new 2.2mm SlimFlex carbon fibre chassis for the Awesomatix A800 mid motor series, MMCX and MMX. Tested and developed for over 6 months by Ryan Maker and several team drivers around the world, the chassis is of a narrowed design all round to provide less scrubbing in corners, leading to increased corner speed. This was made possible thanks to bringing the battery mounts in slightly to allow an overall narrower chassis. The very front and rear of the chassis have also been narrowed thanks to removal of the additional holes for short arm” which are not often used anymore. Removing this material reduces scrubbing in the major spots on the chassis under chassis roll. One major change on the SlimFlex chassis is the removal of the through spool and diff cutouts. The designers have pocketed these only 1mm deep, which provides a much more rigid front and rear. This directs the flex back the centre of the chassis for more consistent handling. Many setups now are without the front C26 brace on the bulkheads, leading to excessive bulkhead flex, giving more steering but also making the car inconsistent. Thanks to the pocketed cutouts, there is now significant less horizontal flex between the bulkheads, so owners can run without the C26 brace and not get as much flex in the bulkheads on the horizontal axis, but maintain the caster flex to increase steering. As well as this, the pocketed cutouts also improve aerodynamics by not allowing as much air up into the chassis, which ultimately improves the downforce.

Xray T4 universal fan mount & battery backstop

Xray have introduced their new universal mount for the T4 series of touring cars that can act as a fan mount and a battery backstop. Machined from aluminium and coming black anodised, the mount accommodates popular fan sizes including 30mm and 40mm but it can also be used as a battery backstop on the T4’20. The universal mount is installed on the bulkhead on the previous T4 version and on the motor mount on the T4’20 rather than the chassis to eliminate any tweak and to ensure no vibrations are transferred to the chassis. The part fits both the T4 series and the T4F’21 and it is available from now on.
