JConcepts 1967 Chevy Camaro Street Eliminator body

Coming from JConcepts is their new 1967 Chevy Camaro Street Eliminator body shell. One of Chevrolet’s first responses in the Muscle Car war of the late 60’s and early 70’s was the release of the 1967 Camaro. The much-heralded design packed a ton of performance value into a production car for the ages. JConcepts has reacted frequently and quickly during the rise of the RC Drag Racing scene offering many sporty designs to match the customer demands of serious competition. The body’s design begins with the dropped V-nose and with an assortment of decal grille options included that can take on the look of many trim packages offered on the 67. As the hood rises, the power scoop blends into the windshield to allow plenty of clearance under the shell. The high attack angle of the windshield blends straight into the legendary cab shape of the Camaro. A short trunk deck makes perfect room for the included large rear wing lower and upper assembly pieces. Under the wing, find the real estate where the decals finish off the racer cut rear-end giving room for any vehicle wheelie bars or aftermarket speed-shop goodies. The overall width of the body is roomy for an assortment of builds and the hourglass shape hits just around the rear tire assembly for that broad and arrow appearance. Slight fender flares give the user a hint of trimming direction for the 13” wheelbase and wheel well openings. The trim lines throughout the body provide a low-profile appearance and steady guide for a clean overall look. Included come a 1967 Chevy Camaro decal sheet, rear wing option including lower support and upper wing spoiler and the paint masks for all windows.

Rebellion-RC A800FX Crossflex aluminium chassis

RC-Carbonstore have introduced their all-new Rebellion-RC Crossflex chassis for the Awesomatix A800FX FWD touring car. The main plate is machined from high-quality aluminium and features Rebellion-RC’s signature Crossflex technology that allows to add brass inserts for the lowest possible centre of gravity while enabling the driver to fine-tune chassis flex by using different amounts of screws to tighten down the inserts. The idea was to become able to adjust the weight-balance as well as the flex individually with every insert by using different fixing positions without the need of changing the whole chassis; with a standard chassis being always hard front/rear or soft front/rear, but not hard front/soft rear. When the brass inserts are fixed at a 90 degree angle to the driving direction they almost have no influence to the flex, but if attached using the remaining – cross-positioned – mounting points, the inserts decrease the flex. To make the system work the fixing points for the “hard” setting are 0.3mm lowered to make for a free movement at “flex” setting, and when using the “hard” setting drivers need to insert the included 0.3mm shims to be able to access the desired “hard” flex settings. The chassis alone weighs in at 83g with the fully brass’ed up variant weighing in at 147g.

Smokem BD10 MYD carbon fibre top deck

The latest touring car to receive Smokem Racing’s MYD carbon fibre top deck treatment is Yokomo’s BD10 mid motor kit. Developed during the recent months, Smokem ultimately settled on a design that features a narrow 9mm front section which was found to deliver balanced flex characteristics despite the asymmetric design. The result is improved traction, increased in-corner steering and corner speed. The MYD design ensures the top deck will never make contact with the motor as the chassis flexes, with clearance for large-pinioned spec class gearing. The top deck can also be easily removed, making spur gear and belt changes a breeze. A distinctive feature of the MYD top decks is the large tuning hole that utilises a bearing to be fastened through to the top deck post. Using the Smokem MYD tuning kit, racers can tune the amount of float the top deck has to deliver different flex characteristics to best suit their needs.
