MD Racing MDT-FF FWD touring car – Coming soon

MD Racing from Spain have released first images of their forthcoming new MDT-FF front-wheel drive touring car kit. The vehicle builds on a 2.2mm carbon fibre chassis and a vertical top deck design that allows to adjust the overall torsional flex in a very wide range, ensuring the car can be adapted to basically every track condition. The ACS active camber and MCS multi caster system allow to setup the front suspension to be compatible to basically any tyre and driving style with the lower suspension arms offering stiffness adjustments to further increase the setup possibilities. Other features will include a floating steering system, a bi-directional motor mount system for weight bias adjustments as well as a widely adjustable battery mount that helps to fine-tune the car’s weight balance. The MDT-FF makes use of about 80 percent of the parts that make up the MDT-15 touring and MD Mini 10 chassis, minimising spare parts hassle. MD Racing have yet to announced a release date.

RC Maker A800MMX SlimFlex top deck set

RC Maker have introduced their new SlimFlex top deck set for the A800MMX and MMXA. The MMX/MMXA top deck features two separate short top decks, drastically reducing the leverage on the carbon. This means the top decks need to be narrower and thinner than normal to achieve similar flex. Also the flex of the top decks front and rear is entirely symmetrical, so in order to achieve the optimum flex point, the car needs different flex settings front and rear to achieve optimum balance, which is to shift the flex point forward of centre. RC Maker’s SlimFlex top deck has this built in. The designers have optimised the profile of the top deck such that with the same ST019 flex setting, the flex point is shifted forward to provide the forward bias flex point that was achieved in their MMCX top deck.

STRC introduce new Arrma aluminium optionals

Coming from ST Racing Concepts are new aluminium option parts for the Arrma Limitless/Infraction and Outcast 6S vehicles. First up is a CNC machined aluminium steering bellcrank set that helps improve durability and precision on the Limitless/Infraction and also on the Outcast 6S, while the aluminium upper suspension arm mount improves the durability to the front suspension, again on both the Limitless/Infraction and the Outcast 6S. The big rear wing of the Outcast 6S might take a lot of abuse from landing and wheelies, the CNC machined aluminium rear wing mount base for the powerful truck keeps the rear wing in place and from twisting out of the rear gearbox. And finally the CNC machined centre diff mount improves the alignment of the centre diff and eliminates flex under high power situations in the Outcast 6S drivetrain. All parts are available in anodized red, gun metal, and silver.

HB Racing Pro-XX mid motor touring car – Prototype images

HB Racing have allowed a more in-depth view into their Pro-XX mid motor touring car concept following the recent release of a handful of images. The current state prototype uses parts developed by and in cooperation with Zero Tribe, with HB Racing’s former IMFMAR World Champion, Atsushi Hara giving the input and Zero Racing’s Yukinori Kagayama creating some of the prototype’s parts. For now the Pro-XX is of an equal length belt, centre shaft design with this layout being the most liked by Atsushi who performed a lot of tests with other configurations. For now the Pro-XX also used the Pro5’s suspension components, however these will likely see a revamp to cope with today’s powerful motor and batteries as well as the latest high-downforce body shells. More in-depth details can be found in a 10-minute video here.
