Exotek FF77 TA07 FWD conversion kit

Exotek have introduced their new lightweight carbon fibre Pro FWD conversion chassis set for the Tamiya TA07. Designed with a modern mid/front motor placement for improved balance and cornering speeds, the FF77’s design promises agility and the ability to carve corners and carry more speed on medium to high grip tracks. The motor, servo, steering racks and battery is placed as centrally forward as possible to maintain on power traction yet create a low moment of inertia for quicker transitioning through corners. Features include a heavy duty 1-piece alloy servo mount, a 4-times ball-raced alloy steering rack with crush sleeves for ultra precise operation and a heavy duty S3M348 Aramid FWD short belt. The adjustable battery mount set allows easy weight bias adjustments for forward or back shorty battery placement while the highly adjustable carbon battery cups are extra lightweight and they come with LiPo posts and tabs. The 1-piece 7075 alloy motor mount is 4g lighter than stock and lowers the pulley by 3mm and the motor by 1mm for even lower centre of gravity and anodised black for improved heat dissipation. The top plate does not connect to the motor plate thus insuring front to rear chassis flex for improved on power off power traction just like mid motor 4WD cars. Also included are a USA 2.0mm carbon fibre lower plate that narrower than the stock chassis for improved cornering and a USA 2.0mm carbon fibre 1-piece upper plate for reduced tweak. The kit is rounded out by a belt tensioner that prevents belt skipping without having to over tension the belt for cooler motor temps, it includes stainless steering posts, turnbuckles, hardware, instructions and a set up sheet. Required for the conversion are a TA07 kit and a shorty LiPo battery pack.

Xray T4’20 low ULP graphite shock towers

Coming from Xray are their new low ULP graphite shock towers for the T4 2020 touring car. Lower than the kit front and rear shock stays, the -3.5mm height shock positions allow to access the optional low lower shock mounting positions on the front and rear arms which can make the chassis roll less in high-grip track conditions, allowing for an easier to drive car in chicanes while improving steering response at the same time. Due to these characteristics the low shock setup is recommended especially for medium to high grip, technical carpet tracks. The shock towers are machined from 3.0mm carbon fibre and they are available separately.

MD Racing MDT-FF FWD touring car – Coming soon

MD Racing from Spain have released first images of their forthcoming new MDT-FF front-wheel drive touring car kit. The vehicle builds on a 2.2mm carbon fibre chassis and a vertical top deck design that allows to adjust the overall torsional flex in a very wide range, ensuring the car can be adapted to basically every track condition. The ACS active camber and MCS multi caster system allow to setup the front suspension to be compatible to basically any tyre and driving style with the lower suspension arms offering stiffness adjustments to further increase the setup possibilities. Other features will include a floating steering system, a bi-directional motor mount system for weight bias adjustments as well as a widely adjustable battery mount that helps to fine-tune the car’s weight balance. The MDT-FF makes use of about 80 percent of the parts that make up the MDT-15 touring and MD Mini 10 chassis, minimising spare parts hassle. MD Racing have yet to announced a release date.

RC Maker A800MMX SlimFlex top deck set

RC Maker have introduced their new SlimFlex top deck set for the A800MMX and MMXA. The MMX/MMXA top deck features two separate short top decks, drastically reducing the leverage on the carbon. This means the top decks need to be narrower and thinner than normal to achieve similar flex. Also the flex of the top decks front and rear is entirely symmetrical, so in order to achieve the optimum flex point, the car needs different flex settings front and rear to achieve optimum balance, which is to shift the flex point forward of centre. RC Maker’s SlimFlex top deck has this built in. The designers have optimised the profile of the top deck such that with the same ST019 flex setting, the flex point is shifted forward to provide the forward bias flex point that was achieved in their MMCX top deck.

STRC introduce new Arrma aluminium optionals

Coming from ST Racing Concepts are new aluminium option parts for the Arrma Limitless/Infraction and Outcast 6S vehicles. First up is a CNC machined aluminium steering bellcrank set that helps improve durability and precision on the Limitless/Infraction and also on the Outcast 6S, while the aluminium upper suspension arm mount improves the durability to the front suspension, again on both the Limitless/Infraction and the Outcast 6S. The big rear wing of the Outcast 6S might take a lot of abuse from landing and wheelies, the CNC machined aluminium rear wing mount base for the powerful truck keeps the rear wing in place and from twisting out of the rear gearbox. And finally the CNC machined centre diff mount improves the alignment of the centre diff and eliminates flex under high power situations in the Outcast 6S drivetrain. All parts are available in anodized red, gun metal, and silver.
