IGT8 adjustable aluminium caster blocks

IGT8 have introduced new adjustable caster blocks for their line of 1/8th vehicles. Made out of 7075 aluminium, the caster block system solves the eternal and expensive problem of having to swap the blocks in order to change the caster angle in the most popular RC suspension design. The adjustable C-hubs use delrin inserts to change the angle of the caster and they have been extensively tested in off-road and on-road applications, being capable of angles from 6 to 22 degrees.

HB Racing working on new Pro-XX touring car

HB Racing are currently developing the follow-up model of their Pro5 electric touring car kit according to an image that surfaced on social media. Utilising what appear to be Pro5 suspension components the chassis is of a mid layshaft design, meaning the motor still remains in the rear part of the chassis with the layshaft and main gear shifted further towards the middle of the car. This however is just one of several different designs HB Racing and Zero Tribe founder Kagayama are currently working on. We bring you more details on the project as they become available.

Vigor T4’20 rear belt tensioner with battery stopper

Vigor RC have introduced their new rear belt tensioner with integrated battery stopper for the Xray T4 2020 touring car. The machined aluminium part offers a milled centre section that allows for a height adjustment of the ball-raced belt tensioner in order to finely adjust the tension of the rear belt. On the opposite side a round head screw and bushings form a battery stopper that ensures the LiPo pack stays away from rotating parts. The belt tensioner is a direct fit, using existing chassis holes.

Tamiya have announced the soon release of their new brass suspension mounts for the TRF420 touring car. Available as 1-piece or 2-piece split A, E and XB variants, the brass mounts replace the standard and optional alloy suspension hangers, with the 1-piece mounts weighing in at 9.3g to 11.1g while the split mounts weigh in at 6.5g to 7.6g, depending on the variant. Last week we brought you a first image of what was believed to depict Awesomatix’s step into competitive 1/12th scale pan car racing and now things seem to materialise even more. Awesomatix team manager Max Mächler shared an image of his ride for the forthcoming IFMAR 1/12th scale World Championships in the UK – sans electronics but with wheels on, showing the extreme low centre of gravity design of the prototype chassis. No official details are available as of now but with the Worlds kicking off later this week official information and more images shouldn’t be too far off on the horizon.

Tamiya TRF420 toe control rear suspension set

Tamiya have announced the soon release of their toe control rear suspension set for the TRF420 competition touring car. The set replaces the standard rear hubs for an adjustable construction that reactively controls the rear wheel toe depending on the suspension movement, allowing to run less toe on the straights for increased top speed while added toe at the corner apex and exit can increase overall stability. The amount of toe change is adjustable using different amounts of shims under the rear hub plates or by attaching the rear hub plates in an upper or lower position. The set includes the aluminium rear hub assemblies, carbon fibre hub plates as well as aluminium turnbuckles and hardware.
