Fenix Racing R16 235mm Pro10 body

New from Italy’s Fenix Racing is the R16 235mm Pro10 body.  The R16 is originated from a brainstorm session between Julien Parnot, Andi Frattaroli and Fenix Racing owner Giorgio Favaretto.  The idea was to make a 90’ish looking body, but incorporating all the elements of a modern design.  They followed a bit the path introduced with the R14, using some parts of the body to achieve an interesting structural rigidity however the core of body is made by all those voluptuous curves typical of Group C cars like the Peugeot or the Toyota.  The result is a body that is extremely functional: fast on the straight, with a nice amount of steering at the begin of the curves.  The cool 90’ish paint job, reminiscent the one used by “Magic” Johnson, is made by René Bonvent.  The body, which fits most 235mm pan cars, is equipped with a removable Gurney flap and is available in 0.5mm and 0,75mm high-quality polycarbonate.

Exotek F1 Ultra R5 carpet spec upgrades

Exotek Racing has released a number of ‘carpet spec’ upgrades for their latest 1:10 formula pan car kit the F1Ultra R5 which it launched back in March.  The Calfornia based manufacturer has added four new upgrades to adapt the car for carpet start with an Inline battery mounting set.  This provides more steering for high grip black carpet tracks and is for use with LCG shorty packs (20mm or lower) and smaller ESC’s such as the Hobbywing XR10 Stock Spec.  They have also introduced a direct to rear pod carbon fibre wing mount.  With lowered mounting and less flex it is best suited for high grip carpet tracks with Exotek highlight it is not for use on older F1 Ultras.  The F1Ultra R5 also gets a wide profile carpet shock tower with the wider shock mount geometry providing less chassis roll to maximise performance on high grip carpet.  Finally they are offering a 5.8mm machined delrin swivel ball with cup.  This offers lower friction than the alloy ball for the smoothest steering pin movement and suspension action.

Capelli F1-RR 1:10 Formula 1

We love nothing more than a passion product and it is super exciting to see this one, the Capelli F1-RR 1:10 Formula 1, coming Victoria, Australia.  A project brought to fruition by Ryan Capel, it was designed and manufactured ‘In a shed, literally’.  The origin of this project started with Capel’s passion for 1:12 Pan car racing.  He wanted to race 1:10 F1 but lacked enthusiasm towards rubber tyres, so decided to construct a chassis that could race on small diameter foam tyres. (40mm – 52mm).  Racing on asphalt in Australia means 5mm minimum ride height, this is not achievable with any chassis on the market today, whilst using 42mm rear foam tyres.  Testing thus far has seen lap times on par with 1:12 chassis on asphalt.  While currently a very limited range of F1 foam tyres / wheels exist in varying shores and compounds but this is something Capel is working to bring to market.
