Xray X12 2019 EU & US edition 1/12th scale kits

Xray have introduced the 2019 versions of their European Championship winning X12 1/12th scale pan car that like the 2018 cars comes as specific EU or US specification kit. The EU kit, coming with a carbon fibre chassis and composite front suspension part was designed for very low to high track conditions while the alloy chassis’d X12 comes with a carbon and graphite composite front end, suitable for medium to very high “black carpet” tracks. New for the 2019 kits are updated chassis with added grooves for the battery backstops and updated rear axle height adjustment inserts whose asymmetric design allows to shorten or lengthen the wheelbase by ±1mm in order to fine-tune weight distribution, traction and cornering behaviour. New for the rear axle clamps are also composite inserts that will extend bearing life.

WRC GTX 1.4 moulded spur gears

WRC Racing have introduced a new series of injection-moulded spur gears for the GTX 1.4 1/8th on-road car. The gears are precision moulded from a special composite material that ensures exceptional durability, minimal wear and improved strength, minimising the chances of stripping a gear. In addition the lightened design greatly reduces the overall weight for reduced rotational mass. A refined moulded process ensures that the gears run as true as possible. They are available as 56T to 62T 1st and 2nd gears.

Protoform Ford GT 190mm USGT body shell

Protoform have introduced their long-awaited Ford GT 190mm body shell for the USGT class. From the ultra-low stance, to the teardrop-shaped cockpit, to the never-before-seen b-pillar “side wings”, the Ford GT is the ultimate expression of form following function. Protoform has captured every detail of this mid-engine sports car that captured GT class wins at the 2016 24h of Le Mans and back-to-back 24h of Daytona in 2017 and 2018. The officially-licensed body fits 1/10th scale 190mm touring cars, with extra clearances built-in to fit over the front and rear shock towers. The distinctive side wings are add-on pieces that can be secured with the included hardware, shoo-goo or high-strength double-sided tape. New lighter-weight material lowers the centre of gravity of the USGT car, improving responsiveness. Each body also includes injection moulded nylon wing struts, a unique rear wing, decal sheet, window masks, and overspray film.

T-Works MBX8, D817 & SRX8 fuel tank guards

T-Works have introduced three carbon fibre fuel tank guards for kits such as the Mugen MBX8, HB Racing D817 and RGT8 as well as the Serpent SRX8. The guards are machined from high-quality carbon fibre and they attach utilising already existing mounting locations and by using the included hardware. The carbon fibre sheets will prevent damages to the tank due to the hot exhaust pipe while also keeping heat away in general to ensure the tanks will not or at least swell less – a symptom that can cause issues in post-race tech inspections.

Zero Tribe BD8-2018 ultra low shock towers

Zero Tribe have introduced new ultra low shock towers for the Yokomo DB8-2018 touring car that allow to run Xray’s ULP or Axon’s High Big Bore shock absorbers. The shock stays are cut from high-quality carbon fibre and using them in combination with the ultra short shock absorbers will lower the car’s overall centre of gravity for improved handling especially on high to very high bite surfaces.

Team Associated TC7.2 Factory Team Kit touring car

Team Associated have announced their newest 1/10 scale 4WD electric touring car kit, the TC7.2 Factory Team Kit, the next generation in the TC7 lineage. With current touring car platforms reaching higher plateaus of precision and performance, the engineers behind the doors of Area 51 wasted no time to ensure that the TC7 exceeds expectations. The TC7.2 comes packed with a host of new components and the features necessary to keep drivers on top. As the on-road market advances at an ever-increasing rate, more is demanded from the chassis to accommodate the ultra-competitive racing classes. A successor to the TC7.1, the TC7.2 maintains the proven suspension geometry, but adds refinement to chassis balance and the flex necessary for today’s racing class. The centrally positioned IFM Inline Flex Mount motor mount adds several mounting configurations to help fine-tune chassis flex to the racing surface, and has an integral mounting position for an optional chassis pitch control system PCS. The TC7.2 also carries an all-new aluminium rear gear differential for the ultimate in precision and heat dissipation, as well as an ultra-light front spool assembly. Along with a list of new features, the TC7.2 Factory Team gives drivers everything they need to race at the highest level. The kit is set for a release in September.
