Capricorn 1/10th touring foam tyres

Capricorn have introduced their new line of pre-mounted foam tyres for electric touring cars. The tyres use the same wheel offset as as most pre-glued rubber wheels, making them a direct fit on most of today’s touring cars and the tyres come in medium or soft compound. Testing has shown that foam tyres can have more consistency over their whole lifespan compared to rubber tyres and they recently gained interest especially in Italy and the U.S..

Yeah Racing release T4’18 high weave carbon fibre parts

Coming from Yeah Racing and made for the 2018 variant of Xray’s T4 touring car are several carbon fibre parts. Available are 2.25mm and 2.0mm main chassis plates, 2.0mm or 1.6mm top decks as well as front and rear carbon fibre shock towers all of which are made of high weave carbon that offers high stability for less deformation during high speed cornering. However, the thinner 2.0mm chassis and 1.6mm top deck are best suited for lower grip conditions as they are slightly softer compared to the 2.25mm chassis and 2.0mm upper deck. All parts are available separately and they can be used in either combination.

Tamiya TRF419XR electric touring car kit

Tamiya have released a first official image of their forthcoming TRF49XR 1/10th 4WD electric touring car kit. The latest incarnation of the popular 419 platform was introduced back in August but it took the Japanese manufacturer until now to finally release a proper body-off image. Changes from the previous 419X platform are updated front and rear bulkheads with ball-raced anti-roll bars, super-short shocks and shock towers, a new centre chassis stiffener for reduced pitch flex and an updated motor mount with more flex setting points. Back in August the vehicle was announced as a full kit for the Japanese market and as a conversion kit for all countries outside of Japan, however this information is missing in Tamiya’s product announcement so you might be able to buy a full kit too even if you are not visiting Japan. The kit is set for a release in mid-December.

Xray T4 graphite & brass adjustable battery holder

Xray have introduced an adjustable graphite and brass battery holder for the T4 touring car. The design with adjustable carbon fibre clamps and adjustable brass fore and aft stops allows to precisely position the battery pack while adding 7.5g of weight at the same time. The construction allows to shift the battery in a range of 4mm in order to fine-tune the car’s weight distribution while the design of the battery mount eliminates any negative chassis flex.
