Montech have introduced their new 190mm touring car body, the IS-200. Positioned in their line-up between the Evo and the Silvy, the new body works great on asphalt giving excellent turn-in while being very stable and carrying lots of speed through the corners. Made from 0.7mm thick high quality polycarbonate it comes supplied with wing & mounting bolts as well as window masks and decals.

After making the decision to incorporate the changes, I was almost a permanent fixture behind the computer… trying to put all the changes from the 3 different concepts into one car. This was very tricky & demanding, as I had to throw away a significant amount of the work done beforehand, and even still I was constantly running into conflicts and problems. After a huge amount of time & effort spent on this, I finally finished and was very pleased with the outcome. I uploaded all the manufacturing programs to the production server, and Production started to work on the 20 pieces of the cars for the team. While working on the team cars, we sadly informed distributors that the RX8 would be delayed for the 2015 season. This was not very welcome news.
Fenix Racing have released their new F1 Delta gear diff, developed together with Framega. Featuring 4 metal spider gears and 3 high quality ball bearing, this gear diff is offered with an 86 teeth 64dp CNC machined spur gear, in order to ensure the most precise diff possible. Adjusting the diff is achieved with a combination of springs and grease. Available with both, metric or imperial shafts, it will fit almost all the F1 chassis on the market. Maclan Racing have introduced these high quality 100% full carbon fibre car stands. A unique style designed for ultra strength and ultra light weight, being only 1/3 the weight of traditional aluminium car stands, they are designed for both on-road and off-road vehicles. Former 1/8th onroad World Champion Rody Roem is making a move back into the onroad market with his VS Racing brand and the release of this 2102R super long stroke .21 on-road engine. Based on the very powerful O.S. Speed R2101, this is a combination of the world famous OS Max precision and technology together with some additional ‘Rody’ touches and development. Equipped with a VS Spec combustion chamber, The VS Racing 2102R is a high end competition engine intended for experienced users.

Danish company Gizmo is finally ready with their GZ1 touring car. The company’s first platform, problems in the production meant it was delayed by several months but the company is finally ready to take preorders by April 1st with expected product shipment from 1st May 2016. Featuring a revolutionary 2 spur gear design, it allows the motor to be mounted centrally in the centre line of the chassis for perfect weight balance. For the newly develop drivetrain, the kit relies on a standard 2-belt design with spool in the front and gear differential in the rear. The drivetrain also sits exactly in the centre line of the chassis for equal left-to-right flex characteristics, as is the floating servo mount and the centre mounted weight, which comes as standard in the kit. Front double-joints driveshaft comes standard as well.

I have a lot of respect and passion for the 1/8 on-road class. My passion comes from my early days when I got involved in RC, as this was the class I started with and grew up with. My respect comes from the fact that this class is considered the “ultimate F1 class” and as such many manufacturers put a high priority and investment into the class that pushes performance and limits all the time. It is kind of strange that despite this class being considered to be pinnacle of all RC car classes, the number of race entries is still low. This is understandable considering the big investment for a 1/8 on-road season and the complexity of the cars, but the very high speeds make the races very exciting and also challenging!

From the signature Corvette muscular stance and swept-back roofline, to the large front splitter and side vents, every detail of the 1:1 race car is captured to add scale realism to the world of 1/8 GT. The extensive decal sheet lets you deck out your C7.R with Corvette branded windshield headers, “Jake” skull hood logo, number plates, and USA flags. Included with the body is an add-on rear wing, secured with three oversized nylon screws and featuring 2 trim-lines and spill-plate sizes: a lower line for sanctioned racing, and an upper line for low-grip club racing.
