Capricorn TE03 bridge-style topdeck

Capricorn TE03 bridge-style topdeck

Seen in prototype-stages at the recent fourth round of the 2015/16 ETS in Riccione, Italy, Capricorn now officially launch their all-new bridge-style topdeck for the TE03 touring car. Doing away with the conventional horizontally-mounted flat topdeck the vertically-placed bridge variant will totally change the flex characteristics of the car while keeping it tweak-free at the same time. The design will also improve traction by distributing the wheel loads more effectively. The topdeck is available as an upgrade kit including new bulkhead mounts and it is usable on both the TE03 and TE03 Evo.

Protoform Body Support Foam set

Protoform Body Support Foam set

Coming from Protoform and made for most touring car bodyshells is the new Body Support Foam set. Designed to eliminate the gap and play between the car’s foam bumper and the inside of the body the blocks and strips keep the front of the body supported for both increasing durability and keeping the aerodynamic integrity of the body intact. Each set comes with four blocks and four strips with super-sticky adhesive backs. The blocks are 9mm thick and are a quick solution to pad bodies in extremely forward mounting positions, as seen in 1/10th touring cars, and also works great with bodies that have a long front overhang. The 2mm thick strips can be used to fine tune this gap in smaller increments and can be cut and stacked on one another. The foams can be added both to the foam bumper or to the bodyshell.

Reedy HV digital low-profile servos

Reedy HV digital low-profile servos

Reedy have introduced two new high-voltage digital low-profile servos. Developed with both touring cars and 1/10th buggy racing in mind, the RS0806 LP (0.06s/8.3kg-cm) and RT1408 LP (0.08s/14.3kg-cm) offer precision metal gears, powerful motors and aluminium middle cases for fade-free performance. High-voltage compatibility means that increased ESC BEC output voltage can be used without fear of damaging sensitive internal components. Both servos also offer a stealthy black appearance with black receiver leads and they make use of standard 25T spline servo arms.

Serpent officially introduce the Project 4-X touring car

Serpent officially introduce the Project 4-X touring car

Following first official outings of Serpent’s Project 4-X 1/10th scale electric touring car, the company now released more information on the somewhat revolutionary car. Designed by David Ehrbar the vehicle features an all-new suspension and damper design that allows for a separate adjustments of the roll and heave damping by using compact damper units and specially designed linkages; the shocks are actuated using ball-raced pullrods and rockers that sit very low in the chassis for a much lowered centre of gravity. One-screw ride height adjustments make for fast and easy setup changes despite looking somewhat complicated at the first glance. Inverse steering arms help to have better control over the front wheel’s Ackermann angle. Also part of the package are quick release mounts for the new front spool and rear gear differential. Serpent plans for a kit release in August, in time for the IFMAR Worlds in Beijing, China. We bring you more information and detailed images as soon as they become available.
