Yuki Model Amass T-type connectors

Yuki Model have introduced the Amass T-type connectors. Compatible with the iconic Deans plugs the connectors are of a new design with a rear cap that does away with the need to shrink-wrap the wires and solder posts, resulting in a cleaner looking and easier to handle connector. The cap features an inner partition wall that separates both poles so they will not short cut and the metal connector plates sport a high-quality gold-plating for reduced resistance and minimised burn-off for best possible durability.

Awesomatix A800 belt-driven touring car kit

Awesomatix A800 belt-driven touring car kit

Following a first teaser Awesomatix have released more information and images of their forthcoming A800 electric touring car kit. Looking at the renderings the new car sports several proven Awesomatix design features such as sheet material lower A-arms, rotary dampers and dual link-type upper arms but the A800 will utilise a belt drivetrain over the previous shaft drive design. The car is based on a newly design chassis with symmetrical cutouts and recessed areas for optimised flex characteristics while the centralised position of the belts greatly reduces the chance of the chassis to become tweaked under load. Additionally both the motor and battery sit nearly 4mm closer to the centre line compared to other cars on the market to allow for a very centralised weight distribution.

Schumacher peripheral touring car dampers

Schumacher peripheral touring car dampers

The Schumacher peripheral damping system has been developed for touring cars to help minimise tyre contact patch load fluctuations, caused by small bumps in the track surface. This means the tyre remains in contact with the ground more often, resulting in more grip and improved lap times. The damping characteristic is dependent upon the position of the piston within the shock body. The damping is softest when the piston is at the bottom of the shock, at which point the peripheral volume is at its greatest. Conversely the damping is hardest when the shock is at the top of the body, and the sleeve has the smallest opening. As a consequence of this, the damping characteristic progressively increases with bump/roll, compared to the kit damper assembly which offers linear damping throughout the damping stroke. The dampers are supplied in pairs to fit the Schumacher Mi5evo, but will also fit other touring cars on the market. Spare parts are available separately to update current Mi5evo shocks.
