Tamiya TRF102 1/10th scale formula kit – Coming soon

Tamiya TRF102 1/10th scale formula kit - Coming soon

Tamiya is busy adding more new kits to their release list of items that will be on show at the forthcoming Shizuoka Hobby Show. Beside a new (mid motor?) 1/10th 2WD competition buggy we will also get to see the TRF102 formula kit. Rumours have it that the vehicle sports a new-type T-bar rear suspension which is meant to be better suited for rubber tyre formula racing, as it becomes more and more popular these days. The redesigned chassis is likely to see a floating battery mount to allow for improved flex, again to try and extract the maximum grip from rubber tyres while allowing for more battery and electronic layouts at the same time. It is also understood that the front end received a revision, possibly to allow for an improved adjustability compared to the TRF101. More information about Tamiya’s latest formula kit should become available in time for the Shizuoka show in mid-May.

Shepherd Velox V10 Pro 1-piece engine mount

Shepherd Velox V10 Pro 1-piece engine mount

Shepherd introduce a new option part for the Velox V10 Pro 1/10th 200mm nitro on-road kit. The 1-piece engine mount with various flex options will stiffen up the rear end of the chassis for more constant rear traction especially in fast corners on high-grip tracks. Fixed with the four screws of the standard engine mounts the rear end is just a little bit stiffer while still allowing for longitudinal flex. To increase the stiffness even more the engine mount can be fixed with another three screws, two under the radio plate and one under the gear shaft. The option part is available from now on and fits all Velox V10 Pro 2015 or older spec models equipped with the team edition chassis plate.

Serpent 748 TQ rear chassis stiffener set

Serpent 748 TQ rear chassis stiffener set

New from Serpent and made for the 748 TQ 200mm nitro on-road car is a rear chassis stiffener set. Designed to connect the radio plate with the right hand 2-speed bulkhead the link is best used on high-bite tracks that can put a lot of stress on the chassis during hard braking. The stiffener prevents unwanted flex for an improved brake feeling and it mounts directly to the 748 TQ and it can also be used on standard 748’s if equipped with the TQ’s right hand bearing and brake holder or in case some DIY work is carried out on the standard part.
