MIBO International 2025 – Announcement

Counting Michal Orlowski, Ronald Volker, Bruno Coelho and Joern Nuemann among its previous winners, MIBO International returns for a third edition in 2025 with former international touring car racer Michal Bok confirming February 07-09 as the date for the Czech based event.  A long time dream of Bok to host his own major international event in Hrotovice, the indoor event finally came to fruition in 2023 bringing together both electric onroad and offroad racing on two tracks build side by side by the team from Mibosport.  The first edition of MIBO International saw the Mugen of Volker crowned the inaugural Touring Car Champion and Coelho’s Xrays take double buggy honours at the Sport V Hotel venue.  The 2024 edition would see Orlowski steer his Schumacher to the Touring Car victory while on the offroad track Neumann’s Sworkz took the 2WD honours and young Bartek Zalewski took 4WD from Xray team-mate Martin Bayer.  With everything from the track, restaurant, bowling alley and hotel rooms all under one roof, the venue is always a hit with racers.  With a capped entry limit the relaxed schedule also means plenty of time in the evening to wind down and socialise over dinner after each day’s racing.  Officially a two and a half day event, the event gets underway on Friday evening with practice to allow for travel Friday morning.  The full list of Onroad and Offroad Classes, plus the opening of registration, for the 2025 MIBO International will be announced shortly.

Raymond doubles at 2024 Kinwald Klassic

Hobby Action RC Raceway in Chandler, Arizona, played host to the 5th annual Kinwald Klassic where young Team Associated driver Levi Raymond completed the double.  One of the 2023 IFMAR 1:10 Offroad World Championship host venue’s two big annual events, the other being the Desert Classic, the Kinwald Klassic is held in honour of Offroad RC great Brian Kinwald.  Decided over 3 rounds, qualifying would see Matthew Gonzales secure the 2WD Mod Buggy TQ ahead of Chase Boyd while in 4WD it was Raymond who secured the top spot from Gonzales.  In the triple finals, all three counting, 2WD would see three different winners but winning A2 it was P4 qualifier Levi Raymond that took the win over A1 winner Gonzales with his brother Chase Raymond completing the podium.  In 4WD Buggy, Raymond would win A1 & 2 and finish P2 in the third encounter to complete the double again with Gonzales and Chase either side of him on the podium.  The biggest winner of the event however was the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation who in Brian’s name received over $5,000 from collections during the event – well done to everyone involved.

Thunder Alley RC Raceway announces closure

It was the venue of the first ever ROAR 1:8 Offroad National Championships Red RC would attend and we still have great memories of being blown away on arriving at Thunder Alley RC Raceway in 2011, but unfortunately this well known track has just announced that it is to close permanently at the end of 2024.  Reporting on a Jared Tebo TQ and Ryan 1-2 result that year, Cavalieri taking the win ahead of then Associated team-mate Maifield, the world famous track has played host to many great races since with the news a big blown to the hotspot of Offroad racing that is Southern California.  On its Facebook page together with images of its latest track build, the track posted, ‘Here is your last and final layout at the world famous Thunder Alley RC Raceway for the 21st annual Proline Nitro Explosion!  With a heavy heart Im still not sure if I have the best words for this but unfortunately due to circumstances mostly beyond our control as of January 1st, Thunder Alley Rc Raceway will be permanently closing and the park will be repurposing the facility.  With that being said, we still have the rest of the year and a few great events such as our Easy Money Race and our annual Toy Drive as well as a few more club races that we will be scheduling to enjoy the track we love so much!  We will need your continued support threw this time as even closing is a costly process. Currently we are looking at another property, but this will be a long process to get things up and going.  If anyone has any other leads or connections to any other locations please reach out.  We are beyond grateful for the friend and family we have made over the last 20+years and the support from the Rc community world wide.’
