Green wins Rd4 of UK 1/8th Nats

Last weekend saw the 4th round of the 1/8th scale BRCA National Championship run under sunny skies at the Wombwell track in South Yorkshire. Qualifying saw a tight battle that left Serpent team driver Mark Green at the top of the field, closely followed by team mate, and round 3 winner, Richard Hicklin in 2nd while 3rd place qualifer was Andrew North. At the start of the final Mark Green started to pull away from the rest of the field leaving the real battle to be fought out behind him. Richard Hicklin was in with a shout of a podium, as was Neil Diver until they hit problems leaving Andy North up into 2nd place until a broken plug dropped down the order. At the end of the 30 minuted final it was a clear win for Mark Green with Mugen racer Peter Hastings in 2nd, 3 laps back, while 3rd place went to Serpent racer Tim Wood, a further lap back.

Jimmy Maddison joins Schumacher

Jimmy Maddison joins Schumacher

Schumacher have announced that they have signed multiple British class Champion Jimmy Maddison away from TOP racing with which he has enjoyed a successful start to the season winning the first round of this years BRCA 27T Nationals racing the Scythe.

Multiple national Champion Jimmy Maddison has joined the Schumacher race team and will pilot the new Mi3. Jimmy has an impressive list of results including two National Championships and several British Indoor Winter Series wins. At his first race this weekend he took TQ at the BTCC in 19T and win be attending the Scottish GP this coming weekend to pilot his skills against some of the best drivers around. Schumacher would like to welcome Jimmy to the team and wish him the best of luck for the forthcoming races.

Johnny Pastor wins 2007 TecRace

Last weekend the Adcaz club in Zaragoza played host to the 2007 TecRace, which was organised by importer TecroTec and supported by Team Magic and Team Orion. Spanish GP winner Darren Johnson, engine tuner Oscar Jansen and multiple World Champion Adrien Bertin were present for tech support and to give seminars, while Johnson was also competing at the event too and duly took put his Team Magic G4+ on the pole position for main final. Unfortunately the recent BRCA National winner ran into some problems in the final and fell over 20 laps down which allowed Xray NT1 racer Johnny Pastor to take the win by 1 lap in front of Team Magic racer Carlos Aguero with 3rd going to another Xray racer, Oscar Romero.

Martin Lissau takes Rd2 of Danish 200mm Nationals

Rd2 of Danish 200mm Nationals

This weekend saw the 2nd round of the Danish 200mm Nationals organised by the Næstved Model Racing Club, which attracted nearly 80 racers. Held under sunny conditions, the pole position fell to Jimmy Bigum, but he retired after 10 minutes leaving Xray racer Martin Lissau to take the win in convincing style by 5 laps in front of 2nd placed finisher Jesper Høyer. A close battle for the final podium spot saw Dennis Hassing and Bent Poulsen battle it out all race long with Dennis getting the 3rd spot by 6 seconds at the end of the 45 minutes.

Markus Eder wins Rd2 of Austrian Nats

Corally are reporting on their site on the 2nd round of the Austrian electric touring car Nationals which were held last weekend at TW-SM Traumhaft. The event was TQ’d and eventually won by Corally racer Markus Eder, racing the new RDX Phi, who finished ahead of Xray team driver Martin Hudy with another Xray, that of Vadav Strupek, in 3rd position.

Cyril N'Daye wins Rd3 of French EP Nats

The 3rd round of the French electric touring car National Championships was held last weekend at the Bourg en Bresse circuit in the east of the country. Qualifying for the Open A class saw round 2 winner Cyril N’Diaye take the pole position for the final, heading an Xray 1, 2, 3 with Aurélien Thréhout and Hugo Ragaut in 2nd and 3rd respectively. In the final nothing much changed and with N’Diaye taking the win from Ragaut who moved up into 2nd and Thréhout dropping down to 3rd. In the Open B class it was Xray racer Vincent Cavard that took the TQ and the win in front of Corally racer Olivier Beining in 2nd and Xavier Ansellem in 3rd for Tamiya.

European ‘B’ Championship, Slovenia – Facts & Figures

European 'B' Championship, Slovenia

The 2007 EFRA European ‘B’ Championship for 1:8 IC Track has successfully come & gone and the host nations Slovenia are the very proud champions following Jernej Vuga’s superb performance at his home track of Tolmin. In total 97 drivers travelled to this beautiful country with neighbours Italy fielding the largest team with 26 racers. Germany was the next largest representation with 20 while the smallest team was that of Sweden which was represented by just one driver – Mattias Ericsson. In terms of equipment used it was Dutch company Serpent that proved the most popular choice of car with Novarossi the No. 1 choice of engine. On the tyre front, when it was dry at least, Enneti could be found on more than 1 in 4 of competing cars. It was a similar case in the fuel rankings with Tornado the top brand. Controlling each drivers choice of equipment it was Sanwa that led the way.

Wubben & Van Steeg win Rd2 of Dutch EP Nationals

Dutch EP Nationals Rd2

Last weekend, the ultra high speed Rucphen track played host to the 2nd round of the Dutch EP National Championship which saw over 70 racers in attendance, split between stock 19T class with 23 racers and the modified class with 48 racers. In the modified class it was round 1 winner, and Euro warmup podium finisher, Bart Wubben that claimed the TQ spot and overall victory with his Xray T2’007 with Hugo van den Berg in 2nd for Hot Bodies, while Patrick Jongenelis ended the day in 3rd with his Xray. In the stock 19T class, it was a good day for current National class champion Jan van Steeg, who placed his TOP Scythe on pole position and took the overall win ahead of Xray racer Tjitte Miedema in 2nd and HB racer Jan Mekenkamp in 3rd.
